My Approach

My Therapy Approach

My aim as a therapist is to provide you with a safe, supportive and understanding space to work through the challenges and issues you are experiencing. My firm belief is that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to help and support you to build skills and awareness that help you live your life in a positive and fulfilling way. I will ask you about your goals for therapy, the themes and issues you want to explore, and we will agree together the tools, techniques and therapeutic approaches that may be useful to develop your own insights and resources.

A lightkeeper is the person who looks after and maintains the light in a lighthouse, making sure it is working well and providing the light that guides vessels on a safe path through challenging and often hazardous waters. I believe that we each have a unique and individual inner light or essence, and my aim is to help you tend and grow that light so you become your own lightkeeper, creating your own safe path to journey through the challenges of your life.

About Me

I have had an interest in self-development, psychology and how the human mind works for many years. I have experienced the positive impact of counselling and psychotherapy myself, and believe we all have the capacity for growth and change, through awareness, insight and a supportive relationship.

My previous work experience is in areas including healthcare management, business development and marketing and I speak Irish as a second language. My name is in the Irish language which can make pronunciation fun! If you would like to know how I say my name, try:
Sinéad = Shin-ade
Ní Mháille = Nee Wall-ya

"There is no amount of darkness that can extinguish the inner light. The important thing is not to spend our lives trying to control the environment around us. The task is to control the environment within us."
